Whatever happened to our favorite Pulitzer Prize winning political cartoonist Michael Ramirez after he left the Los Angeles Times? After some time at Investor’s Business Daily, he’s now at his own website.

The Night Stalker was Richard Ramirez. The DAs office assigned its best trial lawyer, Phil Halpin, to prosecute Ramirez, and the jury convicted him. When Phil was assigned to Central Trials in Los Angeles, I was there and we became acquainted, and later became friends when we were both assigned to the Pasadena courthouse. When he was transferred out, we invited him to our home and Carla prepared lunch for a few of us from the office. Phil retired about a year before I did, just before he died of cancer.

Follow the link to Ramirez's Web site at Investor's Business Daily and click on the February 21, 2006 cartoon for a slightly enlarged version. His recent cartoons are there.
