Carla’s grandmother Ruby was a Maxfield, and that family had a reunion<\/a> in Salt Lake City that began July 16. Five-hundred-seventy-nine people signed up. Carla and I registered in the morning at the Salt Lake City Stake Center. We met Don Maxfield and his nephew Andrew, who are Maxfields still living in Prince Edward Island:<\/p>\n

Don said that he would take off a day and show us family sites around Prince Edward Island when we travel there. He owns the Shop & Play<\/a>\u00a0shop just over the bridge from the mainland.<\/p>\n

Carla and I did not attend all of the events, but we did enjoy the Friday night talent show also held in the Salt Lake City Stake Center and the Saturday night dinner catered at the Murray Parkway Stake Center. Carla bought some DVDs and a book with stories about her Maxfield ancestors. Here are some of them:<\/p>\n
