This is the Eagle Rock, after which the Eagle Rock neighborhood of Los Angeles is named:<\/p>\n

On, Tuesday, April 7, I accompanied John and Jenny and the kids on a hike up part of \u00a0the Eagle Rock Canyon Trail.<\/p>\n

From the top of the trail fork we took, we could see the high-rise buildings in downtown Los Angeles; someone from the homes above the trail kindly left a chair:<\/p>\n

Ruby, Jenny, Alton, Bentley, Jonah, Milo, Max, and John<\/p><\/div>\n

I had mistakenly assumed that the trail would lead us to the top of the Eagle Rock itself–not so. John and the kids climbed another trail part way up the side of the Rock, but the way was blocked by debris and a locked gate:<\/p>\n
