Our ward Scouts recently completed a movie, so they wanted to invite some film professionals to the bishop's fireside tonight at our home. We featured two Art Center graduates who belong to the ward and spoke about their ongoing film careers. Drew, our ward mission leader, creates the TV ads for, among other things, the Apple iPhone. Drew says it costs about $2,000,000 to produce a typical iPhone TV ad.
Rod, who serves on our Activities Committee, was the Director of Photography for New York Doll. New York Doll was shown at the Sundance Film Festival and has received good reviews. Carla and I have seen it and recommend it. You can get it from NetFlix, but Rod said Deseret Book sells an edited version that has two bad words deleted. The little kids would probably be bored anyway, but teenagers and above should enjoy it. It's about "Killer" Kane, the bass guitarist for the New York Dolls.
The first and middle name of Rod's kids are Indiana Jones and Rodrick David, who goes by R2.

How come I didn't get a cool name like that?
Personally, since once of my favorite movies is the Princess Bride, I am going to name my first born son "Buttercup."
