Ruby’s baptism – Days 1 and 2

Friday, January 2, Carla and I left home to drive to Utah to participate in Ruby’s Saturday baptism. Although Utah had a lot of snow on the ground, the roads and weather were clear all the way, and highway patrols through all four states were busy ticketing drivers. We checked into the North Orem La Quinta.

Jenny’s folks were at John’s house, and Jenny had fixed dinner for  Larry, Joyce, and Mindy, but I had told John not to include us as we weren’t sure when we would arrive, due to the weather. So, Carla and I went to the Provo Tucanos. It was crowded, so we had quite a wait for seating, but the food was good.

Ruby’s baptism by her Uncle Greg came Saturday morning at the Orem First Ward building, just a few blocks from John’s home.

The baptism followed a nice service:

At Ruby and John’s request with  other priesthood holders, I confirmed Ruby a member of the Church.

After we changed, did some Winco grocery shopping, and gathered with the family at John’s.

Jenny’s folks left early for their return to Idaho. We played some games,

and later John and I ordered online and picked up burgers for everybody at Five Guys.
