Yes, it's embarrassing; read this funny tale.
How to rid your microwave of the odor of burnt popcorn?–it's all here. Best suggestion for avoiding the problem in the future: use the Popcorn setting on the microwave; yes, we have one right there at the top.

Wow, I didn't know cleaning up after burnt popcorn was such an art. Personally, I just open the window and wait a week or so.

Or you could just read the instructions on the bag… our popcorn setting doesn't pop all the corn. 🙂

That was a funny tale and embarrasing..but different from the event in our home. There was no burn roll left in the microwave. It was the unattended popcorn which caught fire. Literally.
The smell is up inside the fan which I cannot reach. Several times I have put boiling baking soda water in the oven and leave it for a few hours. I carefully wipe off brownish steamy drippings that come from the top of the oven, down the white glistening walls. The thing is clean, but the smell will *not* go away.
I hate microwave popcorn. I wish it had been given away at Halloween.

Hey mom, you're supposed to type your name in the box where it says "your name." Otherwise, how are we supposed to know these comments came from you? 🙂 haha (*laughing at my own hilariousness again*)

I'm thinking we just need to get a new microwave. That burnt smell lingers and lingers and lingers….
