Sophie’s baptism – Days 8 and 9

I don’t remember much about Tuesday. Carla and Ginger shopped at this quilt shop.

I had finished Jim Rogan’s autobiography Rough Edges last week, and at Ginger’s I started reading her copy of Rough Stone Rolling, Richard Bushman’s biography of Joseph Smith. Must be something about books with Rough in the title. It’s the second time I’ve started Bushman’s book, which is well written, but interruptions have prevented getting far into it.

It was a drizzly Wednesday morning when we left.

Dave and Lauren left early, from Boston Logan Airport; Carla and I left a little later, from Manchester airport.

On our flight’s first leg, to Chicago, we enjoyed sitting next to John D., He said that he was on his way  from his New England home (in LIttleton, NH, I think) to the South for his son Christopher’s graduation from Army helicopter-pilot school. John runs a mechanic shop from his home and does some hay farming . On his tablet, he showed us a video of his farm taken by him as he was riding on his tractor, and he also showed us some family pictures.

Our trip ended as Joseph picked us up at the airport in Burbank.
